Vacation Bible School - Join us at Mystery Island as we track down the One True God! VBS will kick off this Sunday, June 20  and go until Thursday, June 24 from 6-8:30PM each night. All current Pre K through 5th Graders are welcome to attend! You can pre-register your child for VBS here and save time checking in on the first night!

Baby Bottles - Baby Bottles (filled with change/monetary donations) for the Pregnancy Help Center are due back by this Sunday, June 20. You can bring them to the Welcome Center or drop them off in the church office during office hours this week.
 

 
Summer Celebration - We will be holding a Summer Celebration after church on Sunday June 27 to celebrate the closing of Vacation Bible School and also to congratulate our two new ordinands in the Wesleyan Church: pastors Jessica Folz and Christian Kelley. There will be food, ice cream, a bouncy obstacle course, lawn games, and more! The ordination service will be held at the chapel auditorium at IWU at 7PM on Friday, June 25. We hope you can come and support and celebrate our pastors being ordained at the service, and the celebration that will be held at the church Sunday!
 


Dream Team Orientation - If you are interested in serving in any capacity at Lakeview and have not yet attended a Dream Team Orientation, text “dream” to (765) 222-5937 to sign up to attend the next orientation that will take place on July 11 right after church in the Youth Room.

Free Items Available - As we redesign our prayer room to reflect our new vision, and clean out other spaces of our building, we have collected several items that are being given away for free. Stop by the tables near Door A and take the things that would be useful or meaningful to you. Tables will be up through this Sunday, and anything left after Sunday will be donated to our ministry partner Grant County Rescue Mission.
 


Debra Corn - One of the top needs that our county has is for foster care providers. Debra Corn is a licensed child placing agency that works with children and foster families locally. If you have ever considered becoming a foster parent or want to learn more about it, Debra Corn will be hosting an informational meeting right after church this Sunday, June 13, in the Youth Room.

Communion This Sunday - We will be partaking of the Communion elements during our morning worship service this Sunday and we invite those who are viewing services at home online to prepare elements such as bread or crackers and juice to join in with us.  
 


Memorial Day - Our church office will be closed on Monday, May 31 in honor of Memorial Day.  We hope that you will take time to remember the saints who have gone before us on this day.

Local Church Conference and Vision Sunday - This Sunday is Vision Sunday where Pastor Chris will share the vision that we, as a church, with God’s guidance, have put together. Remember, this special worship service will start at 10:00AM, 30 minutes earlier than normal. We will have a brief intermission before beginning the annual Local Church Conference. At the conference, we will hear reports from the pastors, members will vote on the proposed budget, and elect positions for the coming fiscal year. Financial Update - The goal for last week’s tithes and offerings was $12,120 and the giving that came in was $8,402. The year-to-date goal is $24,240 and the actual year-to-date is $37,746. The goal for last week’s Global Engagement giving was $1,385 and the actual giving was $1,132. The year-to-date goal for Global Engagement Fund is $2,770 and the actual year-to-date is $2,558.

National Day of Prayer Service - Tomorrow, May 6, from 12-1PM, there will be a special prayer service in honor of National Day of Prayer that will be held in the lobby on the 1st floor of City Hall in Marion. We hope you will come out and support the community, joining with other believers in prayer.
 


Financial Town Hall - In order to maximize time in the Local Church Conference (May 16), we are holding another Q/A style town hall meeting regarding the financial report and proposed budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal year that was sent out last week. If you would like to donate money to sponsor kids who cannot afford to go to camp, when you make a donation, write “camp” in the memo line. Global Engagement -  We hope you are enjoying the take-home kits for Global Engagement week. If you were not able to pick one up at church on Sunday, you can go to the main doors (C and D) any time after 4PM to get one, or come to the church office from 9-4.  Also, join us for a special event this Saturday April 17 from 2-3:30PM at the church for a chance to hear from and celebrate some of our missionaries. This event is open to everyone, with separate activities for both kids and adults! Kids will get to experience what it is like to live on the mission field through two unique “rooms” while parents head to the Family Life Center for a time of sharing, snacks, and a “High Tea”! You won’t want to miss this special event!
 


Wonderspace Coming - Wonderspace will be providing an indoor playing adventure for all Grant County families on Friday, April 23 (4-8PM) and Saturday April 24 (10-2PM) at our church. Come in Door A. Come play with us!
 

 
COVID Protocol Updates - Due to the increasing number of vaccinations and the reduction of COVID cases in our county, our in-person attendance has been steadily increasing. To provide adequate seating for our growing congregation and the new guests joining us each week, the ropes on our pews will be removed beginning Sunday, April 18. We ask attendees to make efforts to maintain physical distancing. If COVID cases in Grant County begin to spike again we may need to return to more strict measures, but our hope and prayer is that this move is another step in our journey to put COVID behind us.

LCS Fundraiser - Tomorrow, April 8, Lakeview Christian School is partnering with Panda Express for a fundraiser. All you have to do is eat at Panda Express to help the school earn money! If you go in person, you will have to show a flyer (printed or on your phone), which can be found here, and if you order online or on the app, use this code at check out: 322687.
 

Midweek Programming Starting -   All midweek programs will be starting back up tonight, including Kidz St. for Pre-K – 5th grade, The Gathering youth group, and an adult class on the Apostle’s Creed (open to any adult) from 6-7PM.

EGGStravagant Journey and Holy Week  -   We hope you are planning to attend the EGGStravagant Journey this Saturday from 10-2PM for a fun, family friendly event that will take you on a journey (including traveling to a few places around town) to see how many Easter eggs you can find, all while hearing the true meaning of the Easter story! This event begins and ends in the church parking lot.
 
We still need candy! Donations can be dropped off at the church office during business hours this week.
 
We are also holding a Good Friday service which will take place at the church at 6PM this Friday. Livestream for this service will be accessible from our website and Facebook page. 
 

Family Service Sunday - This Sunday will be a Family Service and there will not be separate children’s programming. Nursery care will be available for infants and toddlers and Kids Kits will be available at the Children’s Check-in.

Office Hours Next Week - Our church office is operating on reduced office hours and will be open from 9-noon this week (and closed on Friday as normal) due to staff being away for Spring Break.
 


EGGStravagant Journey and Holy Week  -   April 3 is quickly approaching! Spread the word and we hope you plan to attend from 10-2PM for a fun, family friendly event that will take you on a journey (including traveling to a few places around town) to see how many Easter eggs you can find, all while hearing the true meaning of the Easter story! Our EGGStravagant Journey will start in the church parking lot.

Last Week’s Sermon -  If you missed last Sunday’s sermon that Pastor Jessica shared, titled “The Posture of Humility,” as part of our Lent sermon series, ‘Joy in the Journey,’  you can watch it here.

Office Hours Next Week - Due to staff being away for Spring Break, the church office will operate on reduced office hours next week, March 22-25. We will be open from 9-noon Monday – Thursday.

EGGStravagant Journey and Holy Week  -   Mark your calendars for Saturday April 3 from 10-2PM for a fun, family friendly event that will take you on a journey (including traveling to a few places around town) to see how many Easter eggs you can find, all while hearing the true meaning of the Easter story! Our EGGStravagant Journey will start in the church parking lot.
 
We are looking for candy donations for this event. Candy can be dropped off at the Children’s Check-in and the church office during business hours.
 
Also during Holy Week, on April 2 at 6PM, we will host a Good Friday Service and we hope you are planning to join us on Sunday for a special Easter worship celebration at 10:30AM!

Feed the Street -  You can find the list of food items needed for the next distribution by clicking here and food can be dropped off at the church office Mon-Thurs. 9-4PM or on Sundays at the Welcome Center. Food is due this Sunday.

30 Pieces of Silver -  We encourage you to continue to collect money to go towards our special 30 Pieces of Silver offering that will be taken up on Palm Sunday (March 28) during service. This is your opportunity to turn the price of betrayal into an offering of love. Money raised will be divided and given to the Grant County Rescue Mission and our church’s benevolence fund, which helps meet the needs of those in the community and church. Extra bags can be found at the Welcome Center.

Baptism -  If you are interested in being baptized on Easter Sunday, you can sign up by texting “baptism” to 765-222-5937 and filling out the form that is then sent. There will be a baptism class on Sunday, March 28 immediately following service in the pastoral conference room.

Wednesday Night Programming - Kidz. St. and the adult class on spiritual formations will not be running during the month of March, and will pick back up in April. The Gathering youth small groups are still meeting tonight and next Wednesday from 6-7PM.

Small Group Spring Launch - Small Groups are kicking off this Sunday, February 28! Be sure to sign up for a group even if you plan to attend the same group you did last semester. These groups are focused on fellowship and spiritual growth through discussion of Sunday’s sermon content. Ash Wednesday Service – We are still planning to host the Ash Wednesday service tomorrow at noon. Please note location has been changed to the Youth Room (enter through Door A). We will evaluate weather conditions and travel advisories tomorrow and will communicate any changes by 10am via our Facebook page. If you are unable to join in person, or if the service is cancelled, the online liturgy will still be available at noon on our website and Facebook page.

Communion This Sunday  -  We will celebrate Communion this Sunday at the in-person service. For those joining in online, we encourage you to gather elements such as bread or crackers and grape juice and have them ready to take part of during our worship service if you would like to join in on the sacrament of Communion.
 

 
Ash Wednesday Service  -  We will hold an Ash Wednesday service at the church at noon on Feb. 17th. Enter through Door C and D. For those who are unable to attend in person, we will have an online liturgy that will be available. Wednesday Night Programming -  Wednesday night programming is starting back up tonight! Kidz St. is open to children Preschool- 5th grade, Youth Group for 6th-12th grade, and nursery care available for those who need it. Enter through Door A for youth/children programs which will run from 6-7PM.  Also at the same time, Pastor Jared will be teaching a 4-session class covering the topic of Spiritual Gifts in the Fireside Room (use door D) that is open to any adult. Reception for Sia -  We hope you will stay after church this Sunday for a reception to welcome Pastor Sia M’Bayo to Lakeview! We will have cake out in the lobby immediately following church and also encourage you to greet and welcome Pastor Sia!
